Find out how to make your job easier.

Ever felt that butterfly anxious feeling in your stomach the night before work? The constant worry of what may happen at work or even the day to day tasks seems a burden. Well i can somewhat relate but I have taken the initiative and found ways to prep myself before work and make it a positive yet productive day.

Right the night before make sure you’ve got everything you need in the bag for work the next day. If you plan on bringing lunch then have that made and ready to pop in your bag also but don’t stress if you forget just make sure you have your purse/wallet in your bag. Plan your desired outfit for work and place it to the side, after checking the weather forecast. I usually place my uniform in the bathroom once ironed.

Communicate with your colleagues! This can sometimes make things worse because you might not want to know the stresses at work but in my own experience speaking to them helped answer all my worries. If there is something that you might want them to prepare for you before you come in to work then there is no harm in asking most of the time you would be surprised that a colleague would be willing to send that email for you or set up the meeting room so you don’t have to, it will make the day run smoother and you can focus on the other areas of your work.

Work from home if you can. I know its your day off or you’ve only just got home from the office but try and finish up any phone calls, paper work/emails so it isn’t pending for the next day. Approximately an hour on this would be enough but if you get to complete it all at work then well done!

Don’t be afraid to get something wrong, this is sometimes the underlying factor of why that anxious feeling happens. Its okay to make a mistake so long as you are able to correct it and it won’t mean losing your job. Always ask if you’re not sure and share the responsibility if you have to; its all contributing to the business needs at the end of the day. If you don’t understand a system/software then take time out to learn it on your own accord or even spend some time shadowing another individual, there are plenty of resources out there.

This is what i have applied in my current work life, let me know how this works out in your industry and if you have any other tips and advice then feel free to comment below!
